The Sculptures of Ann Wood ‘Woodlucker Studio’

Ann Wood is giving a whole new meaning to the term ‘not edible’ in the foraging community.

Ann creates wonderfully detailed paper sculptures inspired by nature. The latest fungi pieces are of a particular interest to me and caught my eye. If you visit Ann’s Instagram you can watch one of her many reels on how her sculptures evolve through her creative process.

The Woodlucker studio is a creative collaboration and partnership between Ann Wood and Dan Lucker. Their creative space is inspirational, and I can't wait to see more of Ann's work in the months to come.

The mushroom sculptures are so realistic; they look like they have just been plucked from the mossy forest floor. The detail is extraordinary and I am in awe of how Ann captures this in her work. From paper flowers, to fruit, insects and fungi, be sure to check out Ann's work on Instagram and her website.

This handcrafted shiitake mushroom cluster really looks like its growing from a log. This outstanding sculpture is featured in an article about Ann’s work on the curated art platform colossal

Berry Good…

Tempted to take a nibble? These paper strawberries, leaves and their flowers are just delightful. Ann talks of her passion for making food paper sculptures. To quote from her website: “I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to translate common materials into almost real looking objects”

Joyful Amethyst Deceivers

Ah, these are so splendid. They are a particular favourite of our foraging and , we found lot’s this year. They do lose their colour a little when they are cooked, but they have a lovely taste and texture and are a foragers top find.

The detail on these really takes me back to holding one in my hand and plucking them from the leafy woodland floor.
