I have been hand building and painting ceramics since 2015.

Hey! I’m Emma, the clay covered hands behind Mud Made Ceramics. Most days you’ll find me working away in a haze of clay dust in my tiny studio space tucked inside our Buckinghamshire cottage.

I’m a self-taught potter constantly trying to expand my skills year by year, usually by convincing myself I absolutely need to test another technique, tool or glaze combination. I work primarily with stoneware and porcelain, hand building and individually sculpting every piece from scratch.

All of my ceramics are hand glazed and carefully illustrated using what has become a slightly excessive collection of paint brushes although I remain very attached to every single one of them.

My work is heavily inspired by food, nature, woodland walks, and all things cottagecore.

Alongside my personal collections, I also work as a commission based artist, creating bespoke ceramics for individual clients, wholesale orders and independent stockists.

When I’m not making ceramics, I split my time working part-time for a technical consulting company, exploring new places to eat, walking and stopping to stroke any cat kind enough to cross my path.
