The mossy heart of all my inspiration.

As a family, we often take to local woodland to watch birds and hunt insects, but our main family passion is to forage and photograph wild mushrooms.

September to November is the best time to mushroom hunt in the UK, with just the right mix of rain and humidity for a really broad range of mushrooms and fungus to emerge.

We also head out in April-May as there are many beautiful mushrooms that pop up in spring. May and June also bring wild flowers which we love to spot and photograph.

As a family we enjoy the ‘forage and photo’ aspect really enjoyable, its these findings and photographs that I use to work from. I record our findings on our Instagram page Give Me Spore

We bring home edible mushrooms when we find them; puffballs and boletes are our favourites.

My pottery pieces are all inspired by our time in the woods. The forest floor itself, the wildlife and the mushrooms all feature heavily in my collections.
